Personal Training

Making a change in your lifestyle and taking on a personal trainer can be a big step and there are certain to be questions that you might have. Feel free to call us with any queries or fears. In the meantime, here are a few questions you might have considered.

Hiring a personal trainer used to be the sort of specialism that you would associate with celebrities and the wealthy with the means to pay someone to help them get in shape. But these days it is a route open to many people who see the advantages of someone overseeing their fitness program, motivating them and teaching them effective ways to get in shape. Today, the personal trainer is a highly skilled professional that has been educated and certified to work with various types of clients. Children as young as seven years old; 80 year old men and women; obese adults; athletes; cancer recovery patients; and adults with diseases, all benefit from working with personal trainers. Clients are using personal trainers for: fat loss; weight gain; flexibility; to improve posture; alleviate stress; increase energy; injury rehabilitation; improving general health and even aiding recovery from serious illness.

At NuFit Studio, our personal trainers are highly skilled and nationally certified, and take on many roles when working with clients. Your personal trainer will serve as a coach, teacher and motivator. It is the personal trainer’s job to assess your current physical and mental state, establish very specific fitness goals, design an individualized program, and do whatever it takes to keep you on track towards obtaining results. Of course, it is a two-way street, so to get the most out of your trainer you have to be willing to put the work in too.

Before getting started, our personal trainers will meet with you for a FREE one-hour consultation. During this time, they will ask you questions about your fitness goals, past exercise history, etc., to get an idea of what type of program is right for you. Body fat testing, body girth measurements, as well as flexibility, cardio, and strength testing, may all be done during the consultation process. All of our personal training programs are specifically tailored to meet each client’s specific goals.

When your personal trainer knows your goals they will put together a strategy to help you reach them. Your trainer will demonstrate proper form and technique and explain to you the fundamentals behind the specific training that you are focusing on. Although high intensity training is the ultimate goal, you can expect to take it easy for the first couple of sessions to allow your body to adjust to the new style of training. Your personal trainer will teach you about cardiovascular training. Depending on your program, your trainer will set you up on cardio goals for each week, with a complete cardiovascular weekly schedule too. You will learn about high and low intensity cardio and how these styles of training fit into your specific program.

Exercise is extremely important in achieving your fitness goals, however, proper nutrition cannot be ignored. Our personal trainers are very knowledgeable in regards to nutrition, and would love to help you create a diet plan. They will help you stick to your diet to ensure you get the results you want. Remember nothing tastes as good as looking good!
